Season starter workshop!

Saturday, September 23, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm at Royal Oak Middle School with Anna Smith.

Start the year off right with our first weekend workshop — a session to help you plan a fencing season that meets your personal training goals.

Whether you want to win medals, improve lunges, or incorporate fencing into a fitness routine, this workshop will help with:

  • practice techniques you can do on your own or with a partner at the club
  • warm up exercises to use before practice
  • mapping a plan for your Fall competition schedule
  • other cool stuff that only Anna knows

Preregistration required! Email stacyc [at.] islandnet.com

This workshop is free and open to Capital City Fencers’ Club members, UVIC club members, and fencers who have completed a beginner class in the last year with Miko at Saanich Rec (or equivalent).

Is your gear ready for the season?

Club members are welcome to join the club gear order from Crossed Swords, and take advantage of the club discount. They are a Canadian outfit with flat rate shipping charges, so the club will pay the shipping. So Much Win!

Our discount is 10% discount on PBT and Favero items. Check it out at http://crossedswords.ca

To join the order, send Stacy the list of items and the necessary details on size, colour, etc., and arrange for pre-payment at stacyc [at] islandnet.com by September 8… and we’ll bring it to the first practice after it arrives.

Capital City Fencers’ Club Beginner Class

Please help us promote our next beginner fencing series is due to start on Wednesday, September 27th 2017 at 7:30. Because all your friends and neighbours should be fencing!

The course runs for nine weeks and costs $60, all equipment provided. Open to fencers 13+ years.

To register contact: cap.city.fencing [at] gmail.com

Saanich Rec Youth Beginner Class

Miko’s youth beginner and youth advance classes will be on Tuesdays at Saanich Commonwealth this Fall. Great for those 10 + but too young for our 13 + beginner class, and also great for youth of all ages who aren’t free Wednesdays or after 8pm!

Renew your CCFC license

Due to changes in our insurance, CFF licenses are no longer required to fence at the club. However, if you wish to compete outside of our own tournaments (and you should!!) and support fencing in Canada (which you should!!) you need to renew your CFF license September 1!

Renew your license at http://fencing.ca/
