April fencing upate: New videos, Wednesdays only

Happy April Capital City Fencers!

Hope you all managed to have a relaxing and safe long weekend.

Schedule Change Reminder we are Wednesdays ONLY

This month we shift to Wednesdays only for our Youth Clinic fencing starting this week. Wednesdays run from 7:30 pm to 9:30 PM, enry by the gym door (down the ramp) at Royal Oak Middle School. The youth clinic continues to operate in keeping with the Public Health Orders (Phase 2 via sport, which allows individual drills only (no bouts), screening at the door, and sanitizing of shared equipment).

We will fence for April and May (pending any changes/additional health orders and Vaccine Roll out with the 60-79 year olds vaccinating this month (w00t) and the rest of us in May-early June there is hope on the horizon! ttps://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/plan).

Two new clinic videos added “The Point” and “Leprechaun”: https://capcityfencers.wordpress.com/clinic

Password to the page was sent to member emails.

From this page you can get all the clinic video series. I took the countdown timer off on the newest two as feedback from the users so far indicates it wasn’t really used, and people like to use their own countdown/music.

Thanks Caleb!

Thanks Caleb for stepping in last Monday to give an impromptu (and exhausting!) clinic featuring footwork, footwork, footwork, fleche, and more footwork. I will post some videos soon!
