Happy World Fencing Day!

Here is what you can expect at Fencing one our first two nights: Monday September 13 (8-10pm) and Wednesday September 15 (7:30 – 9:30 pm).

Don’t forget to send your completed membership form: https://capcityfencers.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/2021-membership-and-equipment-rental.pdf (or bring to practice). NOTE If you cannot come this week, please email me the form this week ASAP so I can set aside/assess the gear rental requirements for members and the beginner class this week.

1. Come dressed to fence and wearing a mask– no change room available (there is a single bathroom) — and with a full water bottle.
2. Entrance is back at the main doors, not down the hill. Wait outside the doors, socially distanced, until admitted by staff.
3. Bring your proof of vaccine and some government ID. This will be checked by Saanich Rec staff. If you are 18 or under, this is not legally required, but CCFC asks younger fencers to come with proof of vaccine as club policy. School ID will be sufficient to show age at the door.
4. Wear a mask when inside the school, and waiting to fence.
5. Once through the entry, come down to the gym. Sanitize hands, sign the attendance, and hand in your membership form.
   
6. If not prepaid, pay fees by cheque, interac transfer, or cash in exact change. Membership for September is 20$ as we will be fencing half the night. Equipment rental is $250 deposit (or prorated for partial rental by pre-arrangement). Drop ins are $10.
7. Warm up will be led by Isaac. Masks do not need to be worn during physical activity. During that time I will use the forms submitted to sort out sets of gear for those who are renting, and pull out the piste equipment.
8. Pick up and check sizing on rental equipment as needed OR set up pistes.
9. Fence!
10. Between bouts, keep your distanceand wear masksif you can. 🙂
    
11. Sanitize contact points between bouts (i.e. the clips, score boxes) with wipes provided on each piste.
12. Clean up starts at 9:40pm and every fencer using a club blade and wire must wipe down the grips and return to the gear room door area.
13. Exiting through lower gym doors at 10 pm.

As always, please be kind with staff at ROMS! This will be the first night they have to check vaccines, so they will appreciate if we are efficient and quick!
