February Fencing News! – Hold September 19 for a fencing day of fun

Hello Fencers!

Hold the date SATURDAY Feb 19 as we are planning an awesome fencing day for Capital City Fencers’ Club.

Our plan is to offer a full day of activity at our usual Royal Oak Middle School gym location including

MORNING: introductory workshops to epee and sabre fencing
MID DAY: Pizza lunch social
AFTERNOON recreational team competition… in club classic flepebre!! with teams of one foil, one sabre, and one epee competing for glory! And, if there is time, lots of recreational fencing for fun and maaaaaaybe we will bring a box of Lucky Charms for a leprechaun attack challenge!

As usual, this will be a relaxed and welcoming event for fencers of every level. We will create the teams at the event and aim to make them fairly even. And if you are brave enough it will be a chance to try out fencing with a less familiar weapon after our morning workshop.

We have the gym from 9 am to 5pm so hold the date for fencing fun! (If you are free for only half the day, YES you are welcome to join in for morning workshops or team social competition only)

Due to COVID protocol, we are keeping to CCFC members for this one. If you are on this list, you have fenced with us in the past two years and are welcome to join.

🙂

Stacy

PS It really helps us if you let us know you will be coming, especially if you need club gear and have not yet signed out a set, or will arrive just in time for pizza and then stay the afternoon.
