Hello fencers!
An update to our fencing schedule for this week. (Hooray thanks to UVIC we now have Wednesday practice with them!)
On Monday, we fence as usual at Royal Oak Middle School gym from 8 – 10 pm. 🙂
On Wednesday, since we don’t have our own gym, UVIC fencing has invited us to be guests at their club practice Wednesday from 6pm- 8pm. Hooray and Thanks UVIC fencing, especially Owen, and Caleb and Anna for smoothing the way for that. There is talk of a social afterward of some kind, to be determined (probably at Monday night practice).
What you need to know about coming to UVIC fencing club:
1. Please let me know if you will attend UVIC on Wednesday before or at Monday practice. (we will bring extra scoring machines dependent on numbers).
2. If you have not yet done so, please renew your CCFC membership before or at Monday practice. Membership forms are here: https://capcityfencers.wordpress.com/club-documents/ It can be filled online and emailed to this address. There is no charge in addition to your CCFC membership for this UVIC practice, but we do need to have you down as one of our members. I will provide the UVIC club a list of members for access.
3. If you don’t have your own gear, please come to fencing on Monday night and sign out club gear to take on Wednesday.
4. UVIC practice is in the CARSA building, in the “field house”. This is a big gym area upstairs. CARSA has paid parking. Bus access is excellent — the UVIC bus exchange is across the parking lot from CARSA. CARSA map: https://www.uvic.ca/search/maps-buildings/buildings/carsa.php
5. I will be in the lobby at CARSA at 5:45 or so to show anyone the way that needs to know. If you don’t see me, or arrive late, tell the clerk at the front desk that you are here for UVIC fencing as a guest from CCFC, and they should let you through the turnstyle.
Cheers! and see you on Monday (AND WEDNESDAY!) night!
Stacy
