REGISTRATION FOR OUR 2025 – 2026 FENCING SEASON IS NOW OPEN

FENCING Begins Monday September 8, 2025

Basic information

Eligibility:

Fencers must be at least 13 years old during the current fencing season to be a member at CCFC. (I.e., eligible to compete in the Senior age category in Canadian Fencing Federation age category regulations).

Location:

Royal Oak Middle School Gymnasium.

Practice times

Mondays 8:30 – 10 pm

Wednesdays 7:30 – 10 pm

Saturday (Skills & Drills!) 4:30 – 6pm

Equipment

The club provides equipment for members who need it.

Fee options:

  • $400/year. Can be paid in installments. (Fee is prorated when joining for 2+ consecutive months mid-year)
  • $50/month (just fencing for a single month)
  • $15/drop in
  • $125 for a 10x drop in “punch card”
  • NEWish! Add Canadian Fencing Federation/BCFA membership to your invoice

Capital City Fencers’ Club membership is eligible for KidSport grants. Please select KidSport as your payment option when registering if you are applying for a grant. We will send you the invoice to submit with your application.

All fencers have voting membership in the club.

Club Policies

CCFC is a member-run non-profit society. By joining our beginner class and club, you become a voting member and agree to abide by club policies.

CCFC Release of Liability and Indemnity

By signing this release you will give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue. Please read carefully.

Re: Membership at the CCFC legally known as Capital City Fencers’ Club and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, officials, agents and volunteers collectively called the CCFC.

Assumption of risks
I am aware and understand that the use of the club has inherent dangers, hazards, and risks collectively called risks. The following is only a partial list of examples of these risks: negligence of other members, improper use of equipment, sustaining rigorous physical activity, travel to and from the club and club activities, collision with man-made or natural objects or other members or bystanders, equipment failure, and other hazardous materials I the club. I understand that injuries resulting from such risks are probably occurrences of the nature of fencing. I freely accept and fully assume all risks and that possibility of personal injuries, death, property damage, or loss resulting from activities in the club.

Release of Liability, Waiver and Indemnity Agreement
I acknowledge that it remains my sole responsibility to act in such a manner as to be responsible for my own safety and participate within my own limits. I understand that the Capital City Fencers’ Club Safety Rules listed on the reverse of this form are solely for the purpose of regulating myself and other members of the club. I have read and understand the Safety Rules and agree to abide by them. In consideration of my usage of the club, I together with my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assignees, collectively called my ‘legal representatives’ agree as follows:

a) to waive any and all claims that I have against the CCFC;
b) to release CCFC from any and all liability for loss, damage, injury, or expense that I or my legal representatives may suffer as a result of my use of the CCFC equipment or facilities and participation in CCFC activities; and
c) to hold harmless and indemnify the CCFC from any and all liability for any damage or personal injury to any third party resulting from my participation as a fencer.

Payment

CCFC will invoice you once this registration is received. Payment can be accepted by credit card, interac e-transfer, cheque, cash at the first night of practice. CCFC welcomes KidSport or other grant funding to support participation. For KidSport or grant funded participation, we will issue an invoice to you for use with your application for funding.

CCFC/BCFA membership

NEW! Canadian Fencing Federation (CFF) and BC Fencing Association (BCFA) membership
CCFC is a member of the BC Fencing Federation/Canadian Fencing Federation. We strongly encourage CCFC members to purchase a CFF membership for insurance and competition purposes. NOTE: Competitive license required to compete at sanctioned fencing competitions, for CCFC practice ONLY, a recreational license is good.

If you add a CFF/BCFA license only
To complete will require the following information for the BCFA/CFF form:

  • gender (M/F/non binary/two spirit/prefer not to say)
  • whether you are Indigenous (yes or now)
  • whether you want to receive BCFA email
  • whether you wish to volunteer for BCFA
  • And to confirm you will report misconduct 

Please provide the above info below. They will also ask if you wish to donate, I will say no, as you can do that independently and receive a receipt.
